In 1994, APB incorporated Hainan Asia Pacific Brewery Company Ltd (HAPCO) to tap the opportunities in Hainan and South China. The brewery was opened in 1997 and has, over time, become a market leader in the industry with Anchor Beer which is extremely popular with the locals in Hainan. Concurrently, HAPCO also brews and markets Tiger Beer for the premium segment and offers local brands such as Aoke and Kronen to cater to the diversified consumer preferences.

Besides its dominant share in Hainan, Anchor Beer is also making inroads in the expanding South China market. Today, Anchor Beer is available in the provinces of Guangdong, Guangxi and Yun Nan amongst others. Fuelled by increasing demand from Hainan and South China, HAPCO expanded its brewing capacity two-fold in July 2004.
