APB operates through its 50%-owned Heineken-APB (China) Pte Ltd (HAPBC) in China. HAPBC is a 50-50 joint venture by APB and its shareholders, Fraser and Neave, Limited and Heineken.
Currently, HAPBC has brewery operations in Shanghai and Hainan; and recently completed the construction of its new brewery in Guangzhou. HAPBC also wholly-owns sales and distribution arm, Heineken Trading (Shanghai) Co. Ltd; and holds interests in Jiangsu DaFuHao Breweries Co., Ltd.
SHANGHAI
The origin of Shanghai Asia Pacific Brewery Co. Ltd (SAPB) dates back to 1988 when the brewery was an associate company of APB. The brewery was then called Shanghai Mila Brewery Co. Ltd. Over time, APB and its parent companies, Fraser and Neave, Limited and Heineken NV, increased our shareholding in the brewery as we further intensified our participation in the Chinese beer market.
The brewery was renamed Shanghai Asia Pacific Brewery Co. Ltd in 2001. Today, HAPBC has 100% shareholding in SAPB which is the name behind Tiger beer, Heineken and Reeb in Shanghai.
HAINAN
In 1994, APB incorporated Hainan Asia Pacific Brewery Company Ltd (HAPCO) to tap the opportunities in Hainan and South China. Opened in 1997, the brewery has been making headway with Anchor beer which is extremely popular with the locals in Hainan. Concurrently, HAPCO also brews and markets local brand Aoke and Tiger beer for the Hainan beer market.
JIANGSU
Extending our presence to Jiangsu, HAPBC owns a 49% stake in Jiangsu DaFuHao Breweries Co., Ltd (DaFuHao).
Incorporated in 1996, DaFuHao currently operates five plants in Nantong, Tongzhou, Qidong, Yancheng and Wujiang. The brewer produces, markets and distributes major beer brands including Tongzhou, Changjiang and BBOSS, which are choice brands in Nantong.
GUANGDONG
To accelerate its advancement in South China, HAPBC, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Guangzhou Asia Pacific Brewery Co. Ltd (GAPB), operates a brewery in the Huangpu District of Guangzhou City, Guangdong.
The brewery brews and markets Tiger, Heineken and Anchor in the Guangdong province.
