HUMANITARIAN CAUSES
The APB Foundation seeks to play a constructive role in reaching out to the destitute and disadvantaged so that they may rise above their challenges, improve their quality of life and in turn, contribute to society eventually.
The APB Foundation believes that the causes it partakes in should enable self-reliance where possible. With that, the Foundation previously supported the Asia Pacific Breweries (APB) Foundation - Singapore Volunteers Overseas Specialist Team (Palliative Care) Project and the APB Foundation-SVO Specialist Team (Physiotherapy) Project. The former enabled Vietnamese medical professionals to provide better palliative care for the cancer stricken patients in Vietnam; while the latter trained Cambodian physiotherapists in providing care for disabled persons in Cambodia.
To help lower-income families with physically disabled members, elderly destitute and needy families cope with rising food prices during the economic downturn, the APB Foundation introduced APB Foundation Groceries for Charity and APB Foundation Groceries with Heart that distribute basic food items to these beneficiaries.
Over the years, the APB Foundation has funded numerous causes and charities that benefited cancer patients, disabled people, needy families and those with life-threatening illnesses amongst others. Some of the beneficiaries include:
- Apex Club of Singapore (City)
- Asian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA)
- Assisi Hospice
- Beyond Social Services
- Breast Cancer Foundation
- Children’s Cancer Foundation
- Dover Park Hospice
- Home Nursing Foundation
- MILK Fund
- Singapore Heart Foundation
- Singapore International Foundation
- Society for the Physically Disabled
- St John’s Home of Elderly Persons
